Amazon ends Echo's do-not-send-recordings option
Amazon · · Privacy & data
From 28 March 2025 Echo devices could no longer process requests on the device instead of in Amazon's cloud. Amazon tied the change to its Alexa+ assistant and said the setting was used by a small share of owners.
Why it counts
An option that kept voice audio off Amazon's servers was removed from devices that had it.
